United Learning acknowledges that uniform plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of a school and setting an appropriate tone. We ask our schools to have a uniform as it can instil pride; support positive behaviour and discipline; encourage identity with, and support for, school ethos; ensure pupils of all races and backgrounds feel welcome; protect children from social pressure to dress in a particular way; and nurture cohesion and promote good relations between different groups of pupils. 

All our schools ensure that their uniform policy is fair and reasonable and that the uniform chosen is practical, comfortable, appropriate and affordable. For further details on the uniform policy at Abbey Hey, please see the document below.

The school uniform is as follows:-

  • School sweatshirt/cardigan with school logo
  • Polo Shirt: Pale blue with school logo
  • Black or grey skirt or black or grey school trousers
  • Plain black, blue or grey tights
  • Pale blue gingham summer dress
  • Plain black school shoes or black trainers (no other colour visible) 
  • A coat for play time
  • No ‘extreme’ haircuts
  • Long hair must be tied back
  • No acrylic nails or nail varnish
  • Children must not wear any jewellery other than stud earrings
  • No make up

Indoor PE Kit

  • Black or Navy Blue shorts
  • White T-Shirt
  • Bare feet

Outdoor PE Kit

  • Black or Navy shorts or tracksuit
  • White T-Shirt/Black or Navy Sweatshirt
  • Outdoor Trainers
